Social Media Images
Profile Picture
This is you! This is the photo representing you or your brand on Facebook. This photo is the square photo that is layered over your cover photo on your profile. Your profile picture will also appear when you post on walls or interact with other posts, or when somebody searches for your profile.

Business Page Profile Picture
Business profile images for your Business Page now appear on the left side of the screen. This look helps Business Pages stand out from the personal accounts. Even though the dimensions are the same, the photo will appear slightly different on the page.

Cover Photo
Your cover photo only shows up on your Facebook Profile page and is a lot bigger than your profile picture. This larger image allows you to get creative with your cover photo and pick something that represents you or your brand the best.

Tips
- Use a PNG or JPG file to avoid any compression or distortion with your image.
- Once you have uploaded your cover photo, don’t drag it around or try to reposition it.
Shared Image
Sharing an image on Facebook is one of the most common actions taken by users. Images that are shared will always appear on your timeline and will show up in your followers’ News Feeds. The more people who engage with your posts, the more it will be seen by your followers.

Shared Link
Sharing a link is a great feature on Facebook that allows users to share an article or website on their timeline. Similar to posting an Image, a shared link gives you more photo options to choose from. You can use a shared link with a small square image on the left with the text on the right, or a large rectangle image with the text underneath.

Event Image
Facebook Events can help cut through the noise and capture the attention of users. Having a well represented image for your event is a great way to stand out even more.

In-Stream Photos and Shared Links
Twitter users have the ability to post photos with their Tweets. The way these photos are displayed will vary slightly depending on if you’re attaching one photo, multiple photos, or sharing a link.

- Image from a Tweet with shared link: 1,200 x 628 pixels
- Tweet sharing a single image: 1,200 x 675 pixels (recommended, but most images with standard aspect ratios will not be cropped)
- Tweet sharing two images: 700 x 800 pixels (both images)
- Tweet sharing three images:
- Left image: 700 x 800 pixels
- Right images: 1,200 x 686 pixels
- Tweet sharing four images: 1,200 x 600 pixels (per image)
- Four is the maximum number of images available on one Tweet
Profile Photo
This is the image that will represent you or your brand across the platform. Make sure this image is high quality because it is going to be seen across a number of places on the site and by a large number of people.

Photo Thumbnail
The photos or videos that you post on your page will all be displayed with thumbnails in rows. When clicked on, these smaller thumbnails will expand to the original larger image or video.

Personal Profile Image
The LinkedIn Personal Profile image is what represents you as a professional across the network. Anytime somebody searches for you or looks at your profile, this is the main image being represented.

Life Tab – Main Image & Company Photos
This Life Tab on the LinkedIn Company page give you a more in depth look at the experiences of your company’s employees. There are currently two image types that can be uploaded here, the main image that represents your company and the gallery of scrolling horizontal company images.

Profile Photo
Pinterest allows you to use your Facebook or Twitter account profile images, or you can set your own. If you create an account and login using your email address, you will have the option to upload your own profile picture. Like other social media sites, this profile image will represent you or your brand across the platform.

Pinned Image
When pinning images to your board, Pinterest will put a limit on the width of the image, but not the height. This means you can either add square images, or images that are taller in length.

Pinterest Pinned Image Size: It’s recommended to use an image aspect ratio of 2:3 to 1:3.5
- Expanded pins have a minimum width of 600 pixels, so to maintain a proper aspect ratio, 900 px is the recommended height.
